HKSGV Summit

Bringing together leaders from businesses, NGOs, government, and the community, HKSGV annually hosts a summit that delves into the interface between CSV and issues outlined by the United Nations in the 17 sustainable development goals. As Hong Kong's population ages and the demand for medical care rises, good health and well-being has been a major focus of our panel discussions.

In 2019, the HKSGV Summit explored issues under the theme “Good Health and Well-being in the World’s Richest City Hong Kong”, drawing over 160 attendees. Despite the glamour and glitter in growing individual wealth and soaring property prices, Hong Kong has been experiencing one of the highest hospital death rate for elderly in the world, with its prime aged labour force working the longest hours among 71 cities around the globe, and more and more of its full time students taking their own lives due to academic pressure. In this event, we engaged over 12 academics, government officials, business and NGO leaders in fields relating to education for young people, work culture and work conditions and the ageing community to look into why and how these health and well-being challenges are plaguing the different age groups in in the city.

HKSGV has been organising knowledge-exchange summits since 2016, covering topics from business practices and paradigm shift, catalyzing CSV in Hong Kong, corporate citizenship, cultivating sustainable company culture, primary and preventive healthcare, active ageing, gerontechnology, urban design, district health centres and co-creating a healthy community for ageing populations.
